Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, the Department of International Economic Relations at the college organized a training course titled “The Feasibility of Using Artificial Intelligence Tools in Scientific Research: A Multi-Faceted Analysis.”

A group of department lecturers, including Professor Dr. Nasreen Riyadh Shanshool and Lecturer Dr. Anwar Hamed Hamad, delivered lectures on artificial intelligence and its role in scientific research.

The course aimed to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific research methodologies, explore opportunities and challenges in applying modern technical tools, and enhance cooperation between researchers and institutions to achieve innovative results.

The course identified the pros and cons of artificial intelligence in scientific research, highlighting its benefits in enhancing research quality, providing diverse sources, reducing effort and time, and improving academic writing and linguistic accuracy.

The lecturers noted that some of the key benefits of using artificial intelligence include enriching research, providing diverse sources through smart search engines, reducing effort and time, improving quality through enhanced academic writing and linguistic accuracy, generating new ideas and innovative hypotheses, and streamlining research processes.

The course also addressed the drawbacks of artificial intelligence in scientific research, such as diminished research skills and over-reliance on AI, which can reduce researchers’ critical thinking and analytical abilities.
