The College of Political Science organizes a scientific symposium on armed conflicts and human rights

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the Human Rights Unit at the Faculty of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific symposium entitled “Armed Conflicts and their Impact on Human Rights: Palestine - Lebanon as a Model.” The session was moderated by the Human Rights Unit official, Assistant Lecturer Saif Nabhan, with the participation of: The teacher, Dr. Hassan Hadi Al-Zubaidi, and the assistant teacher, Ammar Ayed. The symposium discussed the human rights repercussions of armed conflicts, and international mechanisms for protectionCivilians, with a focus on the Palestinian and Lebanese experiences. It concluded with recommendations, most notably strengthening international efforts to protect human rights, documenting violations, and supporting peaceful solutions. It concluded with an open discussion on mechanisms for enhancing human rights protection in conflict areas.
