“Scientific Discussion

A scientific discussion was held at the College of Political Science, University of Nahrain, to discuss the master’s thesis of student Marwa Muhammad Abdul Rahman, entitled “International Monetary Exchanges and International Economic Stability after 2008: The Euro, Dollar, and Yuan as a Model”.

The discussion committee consisted of:

  • Prof. Dr. Haytham Karim Siwan as Chairman
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Nasreen Riyadh Shanshal as a member
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Mohanad Hamid Mehidi as a member
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abbas Ahmad as a member and supervisor

The importance of the research stems from the radical transformations that the international monetary system witnessed after the global financial crisis in 2008, which affected the stability of the global economy. The major currencies, such as the US dollar, euro, and Chinese yuan, play a central role in determining the stability of financial markets, international trade, and the global economy in general.

The research aims to examine the impact of monetary exchanges between the euro, dollar, and yuan on international economic stability and the role of major currencies in maintaining the stability of the global financial system, with a focus on the rise of the Chinese yuan as a major currency in international trade and global financial policies.”
