The Faculty of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University discussed the doctoral thesis submitted by researcher Hussein Ali Hussein, entitled “Institutional Performance to Combat Terrorism in Iraq after 2014: A Study of the Functional Perspective of the Performance of the Counter-Terrorism Service.”

The importance of the study lies in:
1. Explaining and analyzing the major threat posed by terrorism in Iraq after 2014.
2. The impact of combat and security institutions in combating terrorism in Iraq after 2014.
3. Statement of the performance of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service in confronting and analyzing terrorism.
Second: Objectives of the study:
This study aims to the following
1. Explaining the origins and development of the phenomenon of terrorism in Iraq, and knowing the institutions to combat it.
2. Explaining the mechanism of the establishment of the Iraqi Anti-Terrorism Service, and defining its tasks and development.
3. Statement and analysis of the institutional performance of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service within the limits of the functions assigned to it under the law.
4. Identify the most prominent variables that supported the work of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service.
5. Anticipating the future of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service
