A master’s thesis

A master’s thesis was discussed at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University, titled “China’s Strategy in Facing International Interventions: Taiwan Island as a Model” by Shams Basil Ismail Najm, from the Department of Strategy.

The discussion committee consisted of:

The thesis examined China’s strategy in facing regional and international interventions, using Taiwan Island as an analytical model reflecting the nature of strategic interactions in the contemporary international system. The study highlighted China’s efforts to transition to a more effective role in the global system, driving its interest in Taiwan, which holds significant geopolitical importance in China’s strategy.

The study recommended conducting comparative studies between China’s strategy and those of other rising powers like Russia and India, and developing prospective studies on the Taiwan issue, relying on scenario-building and variable analysis, to predict conflict paths and potential implications.
