“Scientific Symposium

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Nahrain, Professor Dr. Osama Murtadha Baqir Al-Saidi, the Department of International Politics organized a scientific symposium entitled “Iraqi-American Relations and their Future Prospects”.
The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Arshad Mzahim Majbal, and a group of professors from the department presented scientific papers that addressed the dimensions of the relationship between Iraq and the United States of America.
Assistant Professor Dr. Ruwa Taher Drouish presented a research paper entitled “Determinants of Iraqi-American Relations”, and Instructor Dr. Hadeel Harbi presented a paper entitled “Iraqi-American Relations during the Second Trump Administration: Between Renewed Interests and Ongoing Challenges”.
Instructor Dr. Faisal Ghazi presented a research paper entitled “Options for Iraqi Decision-Makers in Iraqi-American Relations”, and Instructor Dr. Hanaa Rahim presented a paper entitled “The Future of Iraqi-American Relations”.
The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations, including the adoption of a strategic balance policy in Iraqi-American relations, reducing dependence on the United States in the security field, and enhancing economic independence. The participants emphasized that achieving these goals requires a clear strategic vision that enhances Iraq’s political, economic, and security independence.”
