Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Sciences, Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, the Political Issues magazine at the college organized a scientific symposium under the title (Iraq’s international climate commitments and their implications for national plans and strategies) on Sunday morning, 2/23/2025, in the Ambassadors Hall. It hosted Dr. Youssef Moayed Youssef, Director of Climate Changes at the Ministry of Environment. The session was moderated by Professor Dr. Imad Salah Al-Sheikh Daoud, editor-in-chief of the Political Issues Magazine.Dr. Youssef spoke about the most prominent challenges facing climate change, reviewing the Paris Climate Agreement and the national document for dealing with climate change.
Youssef stressed the importance of integrating climate goals into national strategies to achieve sustainable development.
