Two lecturers from the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University have published a book entitled (From Shadow to Light.. The Role of Digital Currencies in Governing the Informal Sectors after 2020), authored by Prof. Dr. Wasan Ihsan Abdul-Munim and Lecturer Dr. Sarah Mahmoud Ghazal, with a foreword by Prof. Dr. Layla Ashour Al-Khazraji.The book presents a reading of the nature of the relationship between digital currencies and the informal economy after 2020, and clarifies the extent to which digital currencies contribute to curbing or promoting informal economic activities, by studying the opportunities and risks associated with their use, and reviewing international and regional trends and regulatory and supervisory mechanisms adopted to combat the informal economy and enhance economic and financial transparency and stability
