Dr. Farah Talal Hussein, a lecturer at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University, has published a book entitled (Wars of Values in the Strategies of Major Powers “Russia and China Confronting Western Liberalism”), published by Dar Al-Ayyam for Publishing and Distribution in Jordan.The book presents a strategic reading of how values have transformed from a mere cultural component into the most dangerous weapons of major powers in the 21st century. The conflict between Russia and China on one hand and Western liberalism on the other is no longer merely a conflict over influence, energy, or markets, but has become an existential conflict over who has the right to define the world and who formulates the meanings of freedom, sovereignty, and order.Through a precise tracking of the Russian and Chinese strategies, the book clarifies how Russia has been able to employ Orthodox identity and conservative values as a civilizational shield in the face of liberal expansion, and how China has been able to revive Confucian values and the idea of common cultural sovereignty to present to the world an alternative development model that does not require adopting liberalism as a condition for development and progress.
