Assistant Lecturer Qasim Mohsen Alwan, a faculty member at the College of Political Sciences, Al-Nahrain University, published a scientific research paper titled “The Impact of Modern Technology on Emerging Political Systems – Kenya and Estonia as a Model” as part of the proceedings of the 4th International Scientific Conference on Social and Human Sciences, held in Qom, Islamic Republic of Iran, in April of this year, under the theme “The Role of Scientific Research in Enhancing Integration between Sciences”. The conference was attended by a group of Iraqi universities.
The research summary stated that technology has become an important tool in building and strengthening political systems, facilitating the provision of services to citizens, enhancing transparency, and raising political awareness among individuals. However, this technology has also been accompanied by some challenges, such as cyber-attacks and the potential for it to be used as a tool to violate privacy and pressure opponents. Therefore, it has become necessary to balance the benefits of technology and avoid potential threats by adopting policies that raise awareness among individuals and establish institutions for cyber defense.
