Asst. Prof. Dr. Haidar Qahtan Saadon, a lecturer at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University, has published a research paper titled “The Role of the United Nations in Promoting Cooperative Security” in the Maysan Journal of Political and International Studies, issued by the College of Political Science, University of Maysan.

The research explores the concept and theory of cooperative security, considered the third and most contemporary phase of international organization, following the balance of power and collective security systems.

The paper highlights the United Nations’ role in mobilizing and coordinating international efforts to address various threats, traditional and non-traditional, and achieving sustainable, globally-oriented goals within a cooperative security framework.
