A lecturer at the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, Assistant Lecturer Muhammad Maan Mohsen, published a scientific research paper titled: “The Status of Ukraine in the American Strategic Perception” in the Journal of Iklil for Humanitarian Studies, Volume 6, Issue 2 (Part 3), on June 22, 2025.

The research provided an in-depth analysis of Ukraine’s position in the strategic perception of the United States, particularly after Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula in 2014. The study highlighted Ukraine’s geopolitical importance as a pivotal state in the international system.

The researcher explained that controlling Ukraine represents one of the key aspects of achieving strategic superiority in the context of the ongoing conflict between major powers, making it a central axis in American foreign policy calculations towards the region.
