Review of an Article

The Hammurabi Journal for Research and Studies published a review of an article by Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Harbi Dhari, titled “Asia Becomes Dangerously Unbalanced” by researcher Stephen M. Walt, Professor of International Relations at Harvard University.

The article focuses on the rise of Chinese influence and the decline of the Asian balance due to the weakness and volatility of American strategy and policies. It also points out that the lack of a clear economic vision in Washington and the decline of allies’ confidence weaken deterrence and enhance Beijing’s opportunities. The article suggests that alliances will likely remain but with less effectiveness, contingent on the ability of the United States and its allies to withstand challenges.
