The Department of International Politics at the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University holds a seminar on evaluating curricula and keeping them up to date with labor market requirements
The Department of International Politics at the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University held a panel discussion entitled “Evaluating curricula and keeping them up to date with labor market requirements,” with the participation of a number of professors, researchers, and specialists in the field.The seminar discussed the importance of developing academic curricula in line with the needs of the labor market, and enhancing applied skills among students, in addition to discussing the challenges facing political science graduates in obtaining job opportunities that suit their specializations.
The session witnessed extensive interventions and discussions about mechanisms for updating curricula and incorporating new courses that contribute to enhancing graduates’ opportunities in government and private institutions, as well as highlighting successful experiences in this field.The seminar concluded with recommendations that emphasized the necessity of conducting a periodic review of curricula, and enhancing cooperation between universities and business institutions, in a way that contributes to achieving integration between the academic and applied aspects.
