Message from the Dean of the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University on the Occasion of Iraq’s National Day
On the occasion of Iraq’s Independence Day, marking the country’s liberation from British mandate in 1932 and its accession to the League of Nations as a sovereign state, Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saeedi, Dean of the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, extends his warmest congratulations to the Iraqi people.
The message reads:
“Year after year, our beloved homeland’s stature grows stronger, and our nation’s power increases, a nation we all take pride in. Iraq, the cradle of civilizations and the land of Mesopotamia, has faced the greatest challenges, hardships, and wars, yet it remains steadfast and unbroken. While others have vanished or perished, Iraq stands firm. The pure blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the righteous sons of this nation are the foundation upon which Iraq’s continuity and permanence are built.
Today, it is our generation’s responsibility to safeguard this precious trust, protect and defend our homeland, for it is the most valuable thing we possess, and the most sacred thing we carry in our hearts and souls.
