Master’s Thesis at Al-Nahrain University Discusses the Role of Economic Diplomacy in Promoting Economic and Political Stability

A master’s thesis in the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University discussed “The Role of Economic Diplomacy in Promoting Economic and Political Stability – Selected Models” by student Zahraa Amer Ibrahim.

The thesis aims to highlight the importance of economic diplomacy as a strategic tool in foreign policy, demonstrating how it can be utilized to achieve economic growth and enhance international relations, contributing to economic and political stability, especially in countries facing developmental or political challenges.

The thesis presented a theoretical framework for the concept of economic diplomacy and analyzed the relationship between this concept and economic and political stability through a comparative study of two different models: one of a country that successfully achieved stability through economic diplomacy, and another that suffers from instability and is trying to use economic tools to improve its situation.

The study also examined the future Iraqi landscape and the possibility of employing economic diplomacy tools to achieve sustainable political and economic stability. The thesis concluded that economic diplomacy is a core pillar in supporting countries’ foreign policies and improving their position in the international system.

The study emphasized the need for a clear Iraqi strategy in this field, through building specialized institutions and linking foreign policy to national economic goals.
