Field Visit

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Science, Prof. Dr. Osama Murtadha B. Al-Saeedi, the Department of International Economic Relations organized a field visit to the Ministry of Environment, Technical Department, National Center for Climate Change.

The visit was attended by faculty members, researchers, and undergraduate students, supervised by:

The delegation met with experts from the National Center for Climate Change:

3. Gaith Mahdi Hamdi, Climate Change Framework Agreements
4. Ria Mohammad Kazem, Adaptation Section

The visit aimed to:

• Explore climate change developments and impacts on Iraq’s national security (water, energy, food)
• Understand the center’s structure and role in inter-ministerial coordination
• Encourage students to research climate change issues

The visit concluded with an agreement to activate joint cooperation and design a training program for climate diplomacy negotiators.
