Faculty Member at the College of Political Sciences Participates in the Second International Scientific Conference of the College of Police with a Research Paper on the Role of Social Media

Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Mohsen Alian Al-Obaidi, a faculty member at the College of Political Sciences, Al-Nahrain University, participated in collaboration with Colonel Abbas Hussein Sahib Al-Halfi in the Second International Scientific Conference of the College of Police at the Ministry of Interior, titled “Crisis Management in Iraq: Present Challenges and Future Visions.” The research paper, titled “The Role of Social Media in Shaping Public Opinion during Crises in Iraq after 2014,” explored the impact of social media on public opinion during political and security crises.

The study highlighted that social media has become an interactive space that influences public opinion and government policies. It plays a dual role in spreading awareness and organizing positions, as well as disseminating propaganda and misinformation, making it a crucial element in the Iraqi political and security landscape.
