Within the activities of the international program for building peace and stability in Iraq
(Lecturer Dr. Anmar Ali Ibrahim) who teaches at the College of Political Sciences / Al-Nahrain University participated with a research paper in the advisory conference for the Community Peace and Security Building Program held by the International Rescue Committee, with the participation of the Qatari President of the IRC, Mr. (Paolo Librano), the Iraqi National Security Advisor, Mr. Qasim Al-Araji, and a number of government officialsMembers of the House of Representatives, the representation of the British Embassy, the advisor of the International Mission (UNAMI), and the representation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the capital, Baghdad.
The conference discussed several topics that provided an overview of the peacebuilding program of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), and also reviewed the work of the International Organization for Migration (IMO) in the peacebuilding and stability program in Iraq.
The paper entitled “The place of social cohesion in formulating the Iraqi security strategy after 2017” discussedThe paper included a number of recommendations in preventive frameworks to establish peace and cohesion through securitization of thought, activating the preventive intelligence effort, and strengthening the economic structure through development, as well as the importance of controlling and directing political and media discourse towards cohesion, tolerance, and national unity because of their active roles that are reflected in societal stability.
