External Participation:
The Head of the Strategy Department at Al-Nahrain University’s College of Political Sciences, Professor Dr. Amer Hashim Awad, participated as a member of the Ph.D. thesis discussion committee at Al-Mustansiriya University’s College of Political Sciences for the student Sura Ghadban Ghidan, titled “International Strategies for Facing Cybersecurity Challenges: Iraq as a Model”.
The thesis examined the challenges accompanying developments in the field of cybersecurity and the strategies adopted by various countries to address them, as well as the Iraqi national strategy for facing cybersecurity challenges and the future direction of Iraqi cybersecurity performance. The thesis concluded with several findings, including that cybersecurity strategy is a continuous and evolving process that requires renewal and adaptation to the extent of threats in the digital space. It emphasized that Iraq needs important foundations to ensure the successful implementation of this strategy, including building capacities, legal legislation, tools, follow-up, budget, and addressing the weakness of response from government institutions.
