Professor Dr. Qasim Shoaib Al-Sultani, a lecturer at the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, delivered a lecture titled “Climate Change and Its Impact on the Reality of Women and the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.” The lecture was organized by the Continuing Education Division and the Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Arts at Al-Mustansiriya University.

Dr. Al-Sultani discussed the environmental challenges caused by global warming and their specific impacts on women in developing societies, emphasizing the role of women as a key driver in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations.

The attendees also discussed ways to enhance the investment in women’s capabilities in facing climate crises and the importance of integrating a gender perspective into adaptation and mitigation plans to address the effects of climate change.
