A research team from the Faculty of Political Science - Al-Nahrain University participated in the Second International Scientific Conference of Amman Arab University and the Arab Council for Sustainable Development, held on 13-14-8-2024 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with their research entitled (The International Response to Environmental Risk Management “Climate Change as a Model”)
The researcher, Dr. Laith Alaa Khudair, reviewed the expansion of the concept of security to become more diverse and more numerous... leading to the securitization of environmental risks and climate fluctuations, explaining their impact on food, health, and water security, and human security as a whole.
While the researcher, Dr. Murtada Rahm Salman, touched on the content of climate change and traced its causes and the dangers resulting from it, especially in its repercussions on migration, desertification, and natural disasters.
While the researcher, Dr. Anmar Ali Ibrahim Al-Zuhairi, discussed the international awareness of environmental risks, especially climate change, as well as a review of strategies within the frameworks of specialized international institutions, in addition to international strategies for selected models.
In addition, the researcher reviewed in depth the Iraqi national strategy for confronting climate change as a realistic and effective confrontation strategy, especially in moving towards adopting the hybrid approach and the alternative approach to energy, and enhancing the state’s resources with an economic model that accompanies the environment.
