The Dean of the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, represented by Prof. Dr. Osama Murtadha Baqir Al-Saidi, extends his warmest congratulations and best wishes to Lecturer Saja Fadhil Abbas on the occasion of her obtaining her Ph.D. degree, wishing her continued progress and success in her academic and scientific career.

The College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University discussed the Ph.D. thesis entitled “Social Media and Political Socialization in Iraq after 2011 – Baghdad Governorate as a Model”, presented by researcher Saja Fadhil Abbas.

The study highlights the importance of shedding light on the topic of social media and political socialization in Iraq. After 2011, Iraq witnessed a significant transformation in the use of social media and its impact on social and political socialization. These media have become an effective tool for expressing opinions, enhancing communication between individuals, and opening channels for dialogue and social interaction based on transparency and participation.

However, the use of social media in Iraq after 2011 was not limited to political influence, but also affected social socialization. These media contributed to consolidating social bonds between individuals and encouraging interaction between different cultures in the country.
