College of Political Science Organizes Lecture on University Uniform and Enhancing University Identity

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Osama Murtadha Baqir Al-Saidi, and within the activities of educational guidance and supervision, the College organized a lecture entitled (The University Uniform and its Role in Enhancing Identity and Institutional Belonging) for second-year students in the Department of Political Systems and Public Policies, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Abd Manea.The university uniform is considered one of the manifestations that reflects the personality of the educational institution, and contributes to consolidating the values of discipline, responsibility, equality, and mutual respect among members of the university community… During the lecture, it was emphasized that the university is not just a place for receiving science and acquiring knowledge, but is an educational and social institution that contributes to building the student’s personality, developing his awareness, and preparing him to be an active individual in society, capable of bearing responsibility and participating in building the future of his homeland.From this standpoint, commitment to the unified university uniform should not be viewed as merely administrative instructions or an external appearance, but rather as part of the system of values and behaviors that express the student’s respect for his educational institution and his pride in belonging to it. Institutional identity represents a set of values, symbols, and practices that give the institution its distinctive character and make its members feel that they belong to one entity united by common goals and a clear scientific and educational mission. The university uniform comes as one of the symbols of this identity, as it enhances the feeling that students, despite their different social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, share belonging to one scientific institution.The unified uniform also contributes to showing the civilized image of the university, and reflects the level of its interest in organization, discipline, and general appearance, especially when combined with adherence to moral values and responsible university behavior.The lecture emphasized that commitment to the university uniform is training in respecting the instructions, regulations, and general rules of the academic institution of which the College is one of its pillars.
