Anti-Drug Week

The College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, under the patronage of Dean Prof. Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, organized an awareness week to combat drug abuse. The week included various activities aimed at raising awareness among students about the dangers of drugs and their psychological, health, security, and social impacts, as well as ways to prevent and confront them.

The first day featured a scientific lecture titled “The Impact of Drugs on Society” by Dr. Saad Rouis, discussing the severe consequences of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society.

The second day included distributing awareness brochures and showing educational videos highlighting the dangers of drugs and prevention methods.

The third day featured explanatory posters on prevention methods and the importance of adopting positive behaviors.

The week concluded with a lecture titled “Media and Politics in Combating Addiction Culture” by Dr. Abdul Amir Salem, discussing the role of media and public policies in addressing addiction.
