Al-Saeedi, the Department of International Economic Relations hosted a lecture titled “The Role of Sports in Building Peace and Development” featuring Iraq Football Federation President Capt. Adnan Dirjal.The event, attended by Dr. Ammar Al-Azzawi, university officials, faculty, and students, was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Maitham H. Nasser. Dirjal emphasized sports’ role in building peace and the importance of investing in youth.A renowned football icon, Dirjal led Iraq’s team to victory in the Gulf Cup and recently contributed to Iraq’s qualification to the World Cup after 40 years. The lecture was well-received by attendees, highlighting Dirjal’s impact on Iraqi football.
