A research team from the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University publishes a research paper in the Scopus-indexed journal

A research team from the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, consisting of Prof. Dr. Shahad Ismail Khalil, Assistant Lecturer Hiba Hassan Raouf, and Assistant Lecturer Karrar Nouri Hamid from Tikrit University, published a scientific research paper titled: “Energy Security Strategy in Iraq: A Vision of Nature and Transformations after the Defeat of ISIS” in the journal Geopolitics Quarterly, which is indexed in Scopus, Volume 21, Issue 2, on June 28, 2025.

The research examined the impact of Iraq’s energy security strategy after the defeat of ISIS by understanding the geopolitical and geostrategic transformations in the Middle East region and the state of contradiction that Iraq is experiencing after the defeat of ISIS. In addition, the research explained Iraq’s goals in developing energy supplies aimed at creating regional and international economic prosperity through Iraq’s announcement of the “Development Road” project as a state vision, as one of the strategic transformations in Iraq, and the future of energy security in a turbulent environment.
