A lecturer at the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, Assistant Professor Omar Hussein Alwan, published a scientific research paper titled: “The Role of Political Leadership in Achieving Stability in Post-Conflict Countries: A Comparative Study between Rwanda and Burundi”.
The paper, published in the Regional Studies Journal, Volume 66, October 2025, Year 19, highlights the importance of political leadership in the post-conflict phase and its central role in rebuilding the state and achieving political and social stability. The study conducts a comparative analysis of the experiences of Rwanda and Burundi, examining the policies and mechanisms each country employed to manage the post-conflict phase.
This research contributes to the ongoing efforts to understand the dynamics of political transition and stability in countries emerging from conflict.
