A Scientific Paper Published in the Journal of Political Issues on Anti-Narcotics Policies in Iraq after 2014
The Assistant Lecturer at the College of Political Sciences, Al-Nahrain University, Ahmed Mohsen Alian, in collaboration with Colonel Dr. Abbas Hussein Sahib, a lecturer at the Police College, Ministry of Interior, and Assistant Lecturer Fatima Ayal Taan, a lecturer at the College of Political Sciences, published a scientific paper in the Journal of Political Issues, issued by the College of Political Sciences, Al-Nahrain University, in issue (82/2025), titled “Anti-Narcotics Policies in Iraq after 2014 (Causes, Effects, and Solutions)”.
The paper highlighted the main reasons behind the spread of narcotics in Iraq and discussed the severe consequences and repercussions of this phenomenon, which threatens security and social stability. The researchers also examined the general policies adopted by Iraqi governments after 2014 to combat the spread of narcotics, both executive and legislative.
The paper concluded by presenting a set of solutions and recommendations that could contribute to reducing the spread of narcotics and eliminating its effects on the Iraqi state and society. It emphasized the importance of adopting comprehensive and integrated strategies to confront this phenomenon and protect social security.
