Issuance of the Iraq 2050 Conference Proceedings under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University

, Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, the Journal of Political Issues issued a supplement to its 81st issue, which includes the proceedings of the 8th scientific conference of the college, held last April under the title “Iraq 2050”.
The supplement included more than 20 research papers presented in the conference’s two sessions, covering politics, economics, and security, and presenting forward-looking visions for Iraq’s future in light of Arab and regional developments. The Iraq 2050 conference was held under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Abboudi, and under the supervision of the University President, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, and the Dean of the College of Political Sciences, Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi.
The conference was attended by political, academic, and media figures, university presidents, as well as faculty members and students. The conference came out with a set of recommendations on both the domestic and foreign levels, including enhancing effective political participation in elections, investing in higher education and vocational training to qualify youth, working on developing strategies to promote economic diversity and reduce dependence on oil, building strategic partnerships with neighboring countries and major countries to achieve security and stability, activating economic diplomacy and improving trade relations with other countries, and working on establishing security cooperation with neighboring countries to face common security threats, such as terrorism and border security.
