Lecture on Baath Party Crimes

Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Political Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, the Department of Political Systems and Public Policy organized a scientific lecture titled “Baath Party Crimes in Iraq” as part of its academic plan for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mahdi Ali Wadaa and moderated by Dr. Falah Hassan Al-Manai, who also provided commentary.

The lecturer provided a historical account of the Baath Party’s repressive and criminal behavior in Iraq towards the people, highlighting the military and security means used to confront the unarmed population in the north, center, and south.

The lecture concluded with a recommendation to document these crimes as a black mark in Iraq’s contemporary history and emphasized the importance of educating future generations about these crimes to keep them present in the collective memory and prevent similar behaviors or phenomena from emerging or recurring in the future.
