“Conclusion of the Iraq 2050 Conference

The 8th scientific conference of the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, “Iraq 2050,” has concluded.
The conference, held over two sessions, presented a series of research papers on politics, economy, and security, offering prospective visions for Iraq’s future in light of Arab and regional developments.
The conference was held under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Abboudi, and the supervision of the University President, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Aziz Al-Shawi, and the Dean of the College of Political Science, Prof. Dr. Osama Murtada Baqer Al-Saidi.
The conference was attended by political, academic, and media figures, university presidents, faculty members, and students.
The conference issued several recommendations, including:
At the domestic level:
- Enhancing political participation and awareness programs for citizens about their political rights.
- Investing in higher education and vocational training to qualify youth for the job market.
- Developing strategies to promote economic diversification and reduce dependence on oil.
- Encouraging local and foreign investments in green projects and sustainable development.
At the external level:
- Building strategic partnerships with neighboring countries and major powers to achieve regional security and stability.
- Activating economic diplomacy by improving trade relations and signing trade agreements.
- Establishing security cooperation with neighboring countries to counter common security threats.
