A faculty member at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University, Lecturer Dr. Ali Muhammad Amnif Al-Rafai, published a scientific research paper titled “The Foundations of US Global Leadership After 9/11” in the International Studies Journal.

The research examines the changes in the foundations of US global leadership after 9/11 and the subsequent regional and international developments that affected its leadership position, particularly in light of the growing roles of rival powers such as Iran in the regional context and China globally.

The research also discusses the instability in the international system resulting from the Russia-Ukraine war and its implications for the US position in the international system, necessitating a strategic review for US decision-makers to maintain its global leadership position.
