“(Scientific Symposium at the College of Political Science Discusses Climate Change and Sustainable Development)

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Osama Murtadha Baqir Al-Saadi, the Department of Political Systems and Public Policies at the college organized a scientific symposium titled “Climate Change and Sustainable Development: Integration between Environment, Societal, and Economic Policies” in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment.

The symposium was presented by Dr. Nasr Shamail Salman, Director of the Population Studies Center at the University of Baghdad, and was attended by a group of faculty members and researchers. It discussed the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of climate change and the importance of adopting integrated societal and economic policies to achieve sustainable development goals.

The symposium aimed to highlight the need for coordination between academic and governmental institutions in addressing climate challenges through practical programs that promote sustainability and reduce the impact of environmental changes on societies.

The symposium was attended by a number of researchers and environmental stakeholders, and participants emphasized the importance of promoting environmental awareness and developing policies that support sustainable development in Iraq.”
