Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, the respected Professor Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, the Department of International Politics held a scientific lecture entitled (Mechanisms for Building Coexistence in the Liberated Areas “Opportunities and Challenges”), on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the Ambassadors Hall.
The session was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Attar Awad, and lectured by the teacher, Dr. Ali Muhammad Munif, and the session rapporteur, the teacher, Dr. Hanaa Rahim.
The lecturers discussed the negative effects that the ISIS terrorist organization had on community cohesion, such as forced displacement, loss of trust between different components, and the impact of extremist rhetoric on young people.
The lecturers stressed the importance of the government’s role in rebuilding destroyed cities, providing psychological and material support to those affected, in addition to activating laws that guarantee transitional justiceAlso emphasizing that peaceful coexistence in the liberated areas requires integrated efforts from the government, civil society, and religious and media institutions
