Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Osama Murtada Baqir Al-Saidi, the Department of International Economic Relations organized a field visit to the National Pension Authority under the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit was attended by a group of faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Idhagh Noman, Prof. Dr. Nisreen Riyadh, Asst. Prof. Anwar Hamid, Asst. Prof. Noor Saad, and Instructor Fian Farooq, along with a group of postgraduate and undergraduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visitors met with Mr. Hussam Abdul Sattar, Deputy Head of the Authority, who explained the mechanism of work within the Authority, the quality of the systems used, the smooth entry of information, and the speed of transaction processing. He also discussed the electronic systems used in managing and promoting retirement transactions, the major challenges facing the current pension system structure, and ways to move towards correction and address gaps in the comprehensiveness of the pension system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, he talked about the Iraqi government’s efforts to enhance financial and banking policies and digital infrastructure to develop the pension system in line with sustainable development requirements, making it a key contributor to the national economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
