The article focuses on the rise of Chinese influence and the decline of the Asian balance due to the weakness and volatility of American strategy and policies. It also points out that the lack of a clear economic vision in Washington and the decline of allies’ confidence weaken deterrence and enhance Beijing’s opportunities.
