The book dealt with the development of political thought from the basic ideas of ancient philosophers to modern theoretical frameworks for understanding power and governanceTo understand power, governance, and the role of the state... in addition to dealing with a rich fabric of the main concepts that shaped the field of political science... such as the philosophical foundations of politics and the differences in social contract theory, liberalism, Marxism, feminism, and post-modernism... in addition to dealing with topics such as democracy, tyranny, globalization, environmental policy, and identity.
