The thesis examined the policies and measures adopted by Algeria to reduce the phenomenon of illegal immigration due to its geographical location as a major transit point between Africa and Europe. It also explored the dimensions of the phenomenon at the local and regional levels and provided a set of recommendations to mitigate its effects.
